Welcome to the blog of the Great Lakes Economic Development Council (GLEDC). GLEDC will accelerate business investment in the region through advocacy, education and promotion efforts. It is a voluntary association of governments; colleges and universities; economic development organizations; private businesses, associations and other interested parties.
GLEDC will work to promote and enhance the economy comprised of the states and provinces of Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Quebec and Wisconsin. It shall be supported through membership dues, conference fees, sponsorships, advertising and other revenue sources related to the organization's mission.
GLEDC's goals are to:
· Be an active voice to shape regional policy and programs · Develop tools and research to support economic growth · Conduct marketing efforts on behalf of the region · Unify the region in a vision for economy shifting efforts
